Summary:

We are looking for a Grooms Tech to work on our project in Atlanta GA, who will be primarily responsible for performing Remote Logical Grooms of Transport Circuits from old to new paths. 

This project will be for a duration of 4-6 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-configure new circuit ports and logical cross-connections.
  • Pretest new logical circuit paths.
  • Resolve design discrepancies with the Planner.
  • Perform Remote Logical Grooms of Transport circuits from old to new paths – comprehensive experience with a wide variety of network equipment required.
  • Validate grooms are successful with no outstanding alarms – [this is where the rubber meets the road].
  • De-provision old circuit path and ports.
  • Location remote anywhere, though strong preference Tulsa given most customer points of contact will be at the Lumen/Level 3 Tulsa office.
  • Minimal travel once up to speed, though initially high as the person comes up to speed.

Requirements:

  • Five years or more of telecommunications experience with 3/1/0 cross-connect systems, various telecom network elements, Central Office practices, network/circuit engineering, circuit provisioning, wiring standards, TL1, and circuit troubleshooting. 
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills are necessary.
  • Working experience with Lumen and Verizon is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of DWDM, IP grooms, and provisioning.
  • Experience in working remote logical grooms of transport circuits.
