Job Duties:

  • Assist Full Time Supervisor in overseeing the maintenance of the Food and Beverage Department, including general building and equipment maintenance, maintaining an appropriate parts inventory, and maintaining all Food and Beverage maintenance facilities, equipment, and storage areas.

    · Assist Full Time Supervisor in coordinating necessary or preventative maintenance by outside maintenance contractors.

    · Assist Full Time Supervisor in performing basic building and equipment maintenance, including preventative or reactive maintenance on equipment and light building repairs.

    · Assist Full Time Supervisor with equipment additions, exchanges, upgrades, or removals from Food and Beverage locations in a safe and useful state for the storage, repair, or disposal of equipment.

    · Responsible for maintaining all department equipment in good working order and notifying Full Time Management of any equipment issues that need to be addressed.

    · Assist in the development and execution of innovative and/or established programs with the goal of reducing equipment downtime, cost savings for equipment maintenance, or more efficiently coordinating the maintenance efforts of the Food and Beverage Department.

    · Assist in the development and execution of equipment cleaning and/or maintenance programs for location management with the focus on reducing and/or preventing equipment repairs and downtime.

    · Assist in the execution of Special Events, Caterings, or other Food and Beverage or Park events that require additional support.

    · Assist in Office Tasks such as but not limited to: wristbands, break sheets, Call-in Relief, Suspensions/Terminations, NCNS, Short Shifts, Miss-punches, etc.

    · Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all members of the Food and Beverage Department, as well as members of the other park departments.

    · Attend and complete trainings and/or certification classes as required.

    · Ensure a clean and safe environment is created and maintained.

    · Ensure all Health Department regulations are being adhered to at all times.

    · Ensure all Federal, State, and Local laws are being adhered to at all times, including, but not limited to, adherence to Department of Labor Laws.

    · Willfully perform duties in any department at Discovery Kingdom as assigned by Full Time Management.

    · Complete all tasks assigned by members of Full Time Management.

    · Comply with all Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • · Must be at least 18 years old

    · Food and Beverage Supervisor experience is required

    · Must have a valid “C Class” California Driver’s License

    · Must be able to pass the Six Flags VOP (Vehicle Operators Permit) test and maintain an active VOP at all times

    · Must be ServSafe Certified, or have the ability to become ServSafe Certified, within 6 months of hire

    · Must be outgoing and able to work in a fast paced environment

    · Must be consistently available 35+ hours per week during daily operation and maintain at minimum weekend availability during all other times of the year

    · Must learn quickly and be willing to adapt to change

    · For safety purposes, must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language

    · Must be able to sit, stand, or walk continuously for up to 4 hours at a time, as well as occasionally lift and carry boxes up to 50 lbs., push/pull hand carts, work on ladders at awkward angles for short periods of time, work on the roofs of Food and Beverage locations

    · Ability to actively communicate with large groups of Guests as well as Team Members in a professional, courteous manner

    · Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime within the limits of the applicable Federal, State and Six Flags labor laws and guidelines;

    · Must have a basic knowledge of hand tools and basic maintenance concepts

    Working Conditions:

Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions. Lighting is both natural and artificial. Equipment used includes radios, tablets, cleaning tools. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, working with ovens, grills, and other kitchen equipment. Days and hours will vary and will include weekends, evenings and holidays.

Position will require close contact with Park Guests. Certain duties cannot be performed by individuals under the 18 and 15 years old.
