Job’s Description: Reporting to the Regional Supply Chain Organization, the MPS and S&OP Planner medium & long-term planning process (S&OP horizon and beyond) of a portfolio, achieving target service levels while optimizing the trade-offs between production capacity constraints/utilization/costs & inventory levels.
Job Responsibilities:
  • be responsible for the medium-term planning process (3-12 weeks) of portfolio and long term (rolling 12 months) capacity outlook, achieving target service levels while optimizing the trade-offs between production capacity constraints & inventory levels,
  • Manage and develop production planning within agreed standards (inventory policies, target service level, batch sizes, lead-time for make to stock, assemble/finish-to-order products), in order to achieve a medium-term production plan that is feasible to move into the scheduling horizon,
  • Support the Capacity outlook and the S&OP process; own a part of the demand review meetings on a monthly (and weekly) basis as base of understanding for volatility in demand as well as owning capacity related settings and outlook to drive discussions and create simulations, if necessary,
  • Build the production plan, mainly the MPS and preparing S&OP process, to cope with the Demand (e.g. Forecasts, Orders), while maximizing the machine and labor Capacity Utilization, optimizing WIP and Finished Goods inventory level, contributing to Higher customer service level and decreasing Delivery Lead Time,
  • Identify internal capacity bottlenecks in medium- & long-term planning horizon, and make recommendations and propose solutions/scenarios to solve them,
  • Validate the positioning and launches of NPI manufacturing programs,
  • Owning safety settings to secure service level, as well as SBUs communication for a portfolio of SBUs to be able to translate this into production volumes and capacity requirements towards the factory,
  • Control service level, Confirm Customers Sales Orders confirmation dates, and monitor due date violations and ensure communication of supply issues throughout the chain, including coordination of RM Supply Point logistics, Production Planning, Customer Service Dept and 3PL in the event of a service risk,
  • Engage in weekly reviews with Supply Point Operations/Scheduling teams to ensure clear communication of plans and to support opportunities to improve Supply Point outputs. 
Job activities:
  • Take part, for the scope assigned, to customer demand (e.g. Forecasts, Orders) review, in relationship with the Demand Planner, for identifying Short to midterm major variations,
  • Run/lead and coordinate the Plant SOP Process
    • Monitor the Prior SOP performance, analyse major deviations against target and Establish action plan with relevant Plant SOP Stakeholders,
    • Initialize and build the New OP by integrating the Demand allocated and updating the actual inventory, actual Production, and by taking into account the prior Plant SOP and inventory target
    • Check and Identify Internal/External capacity/Inventory issues requiring SOP revision
    • Propose “What-If” Scenarios (e.g. Production anticipation…) in collaboration with relevant Plant SOP Stakeholders, to facilitate decisions making process during the Plant Pre-OP meeting for achieving an optimal SOP
    • Prepare the Plant SOP reporting and the agenda for the Plant Pre-OP Meeting
    • Animate Plant Pre-OP meeting, formalize the minutes, communicate it to actors
    • Follow-up and formalize action plan,
    • Ensure the effective implementation of the process and manage improvement actions to enhance the process across the organization
  • Elaborate and lead the Master Production Scheduling (MPS) process and meeting,
    • Monitor Demand against Capacity flexibility,
    • Perform Capacity Shortage management: Propose solutions to solve Overload issues by performing capacity adjustments, levelling workload, Schedules adjustments,
    • Manage Over-Capacity, and the buffer stock enabling the workload levelling-out
    • Ensure production capacities (human resources, industrial facilities, supplies, etc.) with manufacturers to meet customer demand,
    • Propose a feasible Production Schedule, Build and follow-up Action Plan,
    • Determine production priorities by studying master production schedules (12 weeks out) and customer requirements, in relationship with the detailed schedulers and Customer Service department,
    • Compile weekly production schedule, calculate MPS Planning Adherence, perform deviations root causes analysis until action plan building,
    • Ensure well adherence between MPS and Detailed Scheduling by studying current schedules, and availability of equipment, materials and employees,
    • Resolve MPS problems by collecting and analysing information, coordinating solutions
  • In strong collaboration with CS and Sales Stakeholders, manage ATP and CTP Processes to confirm accurate customer delivery date and communicate any delay and catch-up plan, based on followings:
    • Standard Delivery Lead Time Charter, and Customer Prioritization rules,
    • MPS outputs, and last detailed Scheduling, and Available Inventory projection,
  • Review material shortages with the material procurement planners, stock outages, and safety stock levels while working with PM and Manufacturing to fit the demand,
  • Determines and manages optimal WIP and FG inventory levels (and parameters into the ERP system) to achieve desired customer service levels in a hybrid Make-to-Order and Make-to-Stock planning environment for production lines, by emphasizing Pull Flow,
  • Maintains effective oversight and disposition of slow moving and obsolete inventory,
  • Identify relevant trends, opportunities for improvement, implement corrective actions,
  • Manage Standard reports and analysis related to, by compiling and summarizing
    • MPS & SOP planning Adherence, and Deviations Root Causes Analysis,
    • OTIF (out of the factory), and Back-Orders Status,
    • Customer Requested vs Confirmed Lead Time Gap monitoring,
    • Operations Plan (tied to S&OP) and MPS,
    • Load vs Capacity, for the bottlenecks,
    • WIP & Finishing Good Inventory projection, Slow movers reduction program,
    • Delivery plan (over the MPS Horizon)
Mandatory Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or 5 years Supply Chain Planning experience.
Preferred Education:
  • Master degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Production, covering Procurement, Inventory and Production Planning, Customs and Transportation.
  • APICS CPIM certification preferred,
    and/or CPSM
  • Project Management certification
Preferred Work Qualifications:
  • Strong experience within Factories, Industrial & Logistics environment: Auto, Aero
  • min. 5 years’ experience in Planning or Supply Chain roles: Procurement, Production and Inventory planning.
  • Robust understanding of the planning function and processes: MPS, S&OP.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing: Value Stream Mapping, Pull Flow, Kanban.
  • Knowledge of, and experience with forecasting and supply planning tools (e.g., M3 as a plus, SAP, etc.).
  • Analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Can function autonomously and in a team, can lead and develop people. Can take actions and make sure corrective plan is in place.
  • Ability to influence and mobilize broad range of stakeholders to achieve desired project/business outcome.
  • Able to build and maintain relationships with people at different levels and communicate with senior stakeholders at different levels in organization.
  • Be Customer-oriented.
Location: 
This job requires 3 days at our plant in Altavista, Virginia and 2 days at our corporate office in Danville, Virginia.
