Marina Porter

Job Summary
South Bay Marina is looking to add a Porter to our team! The Porter's schedule will be Monday - Friday 9am-5pm during our peak season. To be successful in this role you will need basic Marina knowledge, the ability to be flexible, and think proactively. The starting rate for this position is $25 but will vary based on experience. 

Job Duties

• Assist with basic inquires and direct customers to proper employees for assistance.
• Assist customers with service pickup and drop-off.  Including coupling/uncoupling trailers from vehicles, proper storage, and movement of vessels on trailer.
• Service and storage vessels properly parked & aligned according to standards.
• Regular inspections to prevent damage from weather.  (Checking drain plugs, canvas, etc.)
• Complete minor maintenance/repairs/inspections to service vessels.  (i.e. trailer tire inflation, battery checks, top off fluids, light bulb changes)
• Gather identification information from vessels, trailers, engines to assist Service Advisor in Work Order preparation.  Complete pre/post inspections and documentation.
• Assist Service Technicians, as directed, in completion of service jobs.
• Assist service, marina, and boat club employees with the general organization, cleanliness, and maintenance of the marina property and equipment.
• Primary employee responsible for janitorial duties of offices and warehouse.
• Assist with ordering, stocking, and management of supplies, parts, and inventory for the Service Shop, Marina, and Boat Club.
• Perform minor repair tasks to docks, dock equipment, swimming pool, buildings, grounds as required.
• Assist Marina as necessary, including fuel vessels, perform small duties as directed from Office Administrator, assist with emergency situations.
• Assist Boat Club as necessary, including piloting vessels on water for positioning, cleaning/preparation of vessels.

Hours for this role will average 40/week during peak season April - September and are expected to decrease to 32/week during the off season.
