Sun Health is looking for big-hearted, invested, and thorough Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our vibrant team at La Loma Village in Litchfield Park, Arizona.

Join us to provide direct patient care under direction of nursing staff. Perform duties such as feed, bathe, dress, groom, or move patients, or change linens. May transfer or transport patients.

**$1000.00 sign-on bonus (Full-Time)**

**Shift Differential of $2.25 increase in hourly wage from M-F 6pm to 6am & Friday 6pm - Monday 6am**

*Evening Shift (2pm to 10:30pm)*

Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

When arriving on duty, check assignment, schedule, note any special events scheduled for that day and extra duties specific to the shift and section you are working.
Do assigned duties as they fit into the day's schedule.
Answer call lights as needed (no call light should be on longer than five (5) minutes).
Do vitals signs as indicated and when requested.
Assist at meal times according to schedule.
Chart required information.
Attend Staff and In-Service Meetings. Each CNA must attend the required In-Services annually.
Assist in, and/or perform, responsibilities connected with admissions, transfers and discharges.
Use aseptic technique in all care of residents to prevent spread of disease and infection.
Observe residents physical condition, emotions, reactions to events, eating and report any and all changes to the Charge Nurse.
Maintain and renew certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant and be responsible to give copy of certification to Human Resources.
Demonstrate the Sun Health Vibrant Living culture and provides all customers/audience with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating Sun Health behaviors (the 6 Cs) each and every day.

Day Shift:

· Give general A. M. care to residents preparing them for breakfast. (A.M. care consists of washing hands, face, combing hair, oral care, and incontinent care). Residents may wear housecoats to breakfast.

· When breakfast is served assist residents in eating if needed.

· Following breakfast give nursing care consisting of but not limited to the following; bathe, including shampoo, according to schedule or more frequently as indicated by resident's condition.

· Shave male and female residents. Males need shaving every day, females as needed.

· Comb hair in a neat and attractive manner.

· Have all residents dressed in street clothes by 10:00 a.m. and ready to participate in activities. Make sure glasses and hearing aids are in place and working order. Report any problems to the Charge Nurse. Escort residents to activity as scheduled.

· Any bedfast resident should be turned no less than every two (2) hours and their linen changed as needed.

· All dependent residents should be given the opportunity to go to the bathroom or checked for incontinency every two (2) hours or oftener.

· All restrained residents are to have their restraints released every two (2) hours; exercised, offered fluids; and this action documented on the chart. Any resident that has been chemically restrained should be checked every hour.

· Assist resident with pre-meal preparation before lunch.

· Prepare residents and assist them in feeding in accordance with each resident's needs.

· After meals, escort residents to their room. Take to the bathroom, give oral care, and assist him/her in lying down for a nap. Tidy up the room. Give fresh water and afternoon nourishment as indicated.

· Assist in preparing residents for restorative nursing and Therapy services.

· Nail care to be done a weekly basis or as needed.

· Weigh residents and document weights as assigned by the Charge Nurse.

· Bathe residents according to the schedule.

· Empty trash and remove soiled clothing.

P.M. Shift:

· Assist with residents at activities.

· Assist resident with pre-meal preparation before dinner.

· Assist or feed at meals according to resident's needs.

· Bathe residents according to schedule.

· Nail care to be performed weekly or as needed.

· Do oral care including dentures, take to the bathroom and assist as necessary.

· Assist in undressing and getting into night clothes. Remember part of rehabilitation nursing is to have the resident do as much as possible for themselves.

· Fix hair according to resident's preference or as appropriate for bedtime.

· Assist into bed, make sure the call light is within reach and give fresh water. Make hourly rounds on all residents after they are in bed.

· Empty the trash and remove soiled clothing.

Night Shift:

· Check residents every 2 hours.

· Incontinent residents should be checked, cleaned, and/or taken to the bathroom.

· Residents physically incapable of turning themselves should be turned no less than every two (2) hours.

· Other duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse

· Wash wheelchairs weekly as assigned.

· Clean soiled equipment found in the dirty utility room every night.

Qualifications:

CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain (Required)
Certified Nurses Assistant (Required)
AZ Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain (Required)
