Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Medical Surgical Oncology unit. This position offers a unique schedule with 7 straight days off, requiring a 14-week contract commitment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients with various oncological diagnoses.
Schedule:
• Rotation: 7 consecutive days off
• Contract Duration: 14 weeks
• Weekends: Variable based on unit needs
• No set/blocked scheduling
• Self-schedule requests accepted
Orientation:
• First week: Monday to Friday dayshift orientation
• Second week: 36 hours of on-unit orientation with a preceptor
Experience Required:
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
Patient Population and Diagnoses:
• Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics
• Diagnoses: Surgical Oncology (breast, thyroid, melanoma), Hepatobiliary (liver, pancreas, spleen, biliary tract cancers, neuroendocrine), Colorectal (colon, rectal cancer), Plastics (reconstructive breast cancer or sarcoma)
Special Procedures and Unit Details:
• Chemotherapy administration
• Blood transfusions
• IV Antibiotics
• Management of oncologic emergencies
• Cytokine release syndrome management
• Insulin drips
• Heparin drips
• Emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention
Certifications Required:
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred Certifications:
• ONS Chemo certification
Computerized Charting:
• EPIC

#Tier4 Travel Compliance
There is a strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start – no exceptions. Please screen for any candidate vacation time taking place immediately after booking as this will likely cause a push due to fingerprinting delays.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE MADE AWARE OF THE URGENCY OF THE OHIO FINGERPRINTING PROCESS. COMPLETE RESULTS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL TRAVELERS BY THE COMPLIANCE DEADLINE – NO EXCEPTIONS. TRAVELERS WHO ARE UNRESPONSIVE OR UNCOOPERATIVE WITH CREDENTIALING ARE AT RISK OF PUSH/CANCEL.
All candidates who are currently outside the state of Ohio but within driving distance will be required to drive to a fingerprinting location in Ohio as soon as possible after booking. Travelers who are extreme distances from Ohio will be mailed a fingerprinting packet, which is to be completed urgently upon receipt. Detailed instructions will be sent to the candidate by the Credentialing team.

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
Must have valid compact or state license in hand to be submitted. Facility will not accept emergency or pending licenses.
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
