General Summary: The Visitor Services Agent -Driver is responsible for safelytransporting guests between designated areas in company registered vehicles andequipment in a manner which promotes a positive Zoo experience and demonstratesunparalleled customer service. Thisposition requires a flexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, andspecial events. The Visitor Services Agent - Driver, will report directly tothe Assistant Director of Visitor Services, Park Operations & Facilities.This position is not responsible for performing maintenance or repairs onequipment.

Essential Functions:

PrimaryFunction:

? To transportguests safely to and from designated locations on shuttles, mobility vehicles,and train;

? Drive vehicle incompliance with all state driver's licensing requirements, department, and zoowide safety policies;

? A secondaryassignment may include operating the carousel, golf carts, gator, trash truckand refuse vehicle

? Interact in aconsistently pleasant and helpful manner to fellow employees, guests, vendors,and other visitors of the Zoo and demonstrate the highest standards of internaland external customer service;

? Assist withcompleting daily operations checklist on zoo shuttle and train;

? Use train andshuttle intercoms to greet and welcome guests, provide safety instructions, andmake any other necessary announcements;

? Monitor guests'behavior to ensure their safety on and around the shuttle, train, mobilityvehicle and carousel;

? Load and unloadresponsibilities associated with Zoo shuttle, train, mobility vehicle andcarousel;

? Safely andefficiently assist with operating assigned equipment;

? Ensurecleanliness of all shuttle vehicles and equipment and train, including shuttleand train stops and surrounding areas;

? Provide guestcontrol, including challenging situations;

? Provide guestswith information on all aspects of the Zoo experience such as exhibits,on-ground activities (including times and locations), routes through the Zoo,construction, shuttle, train, and membership information;

? Assist with snowremoval as needed:

? Monitor andvalidate memberships of guests at the Zoo entrance as needed;

? Perform otherduties as assigned; and,

? Adhereto all policies and procedures of the Zoo.

Communication (Internal and External):

? Responsible forkeeping Director, Managers, and Supervisors fully updated on any issues that mayoccur during daily operations;

? Report safetymatters to management and/or security immediately;

? Respondappropriately to guests' questions, comments, or concerns;

? Communicate withZoo staff by radio contact as neededfollowing proper radio etiquette and protocol at all times; and,

? Contact anappropriate staff member necessary to resolve guest issues.

Management of Resources (financial, human resources,facilities):

? Assist inmaintaining accurate documentation in compliance with safety standards to includedaily checklists, maintenance logs, and training hours logs; and,

? Distribute Zooliterature, including but not limited to: maps, event flyers and commentcards, while maintaining accurate supply of the same.

Minimum Qualifications:

Hospitality:

? Friendly andoutgoing;

? Possess apositive and patient attitude;

? Possess excellentverbal communication skills; and,

? Adaptability-Willingness to work until the last guest has left Zoo grounds each scheduledday.

Education:

? High SchoolDiploma or equivalent.

Experience/Training:

? Must be 21 yearsold and possess a valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:

? Must be able tostand and remain active for an eight hour shift;

? Must be able towalk large areas of the Zoo as needed;

? Must be able to workin an outdoor weather environment in all seasons and weather, includingheat/humidity, cold temperatures, and/or wet conditions;

? Ability to work aflexible schedule to include weekends, holidays, and special events; and,

? Must be able toexert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, push, pull, carry, or otherwise moveobjects.

Equipment:

? Must be able tooperate a variety of equipment including but not limited to shuttles, mobilityvehicle, train, carousel, golf carts, gator, trash truck, refuse truck, two-wayradio, telephone, etc.

Traits Desirable:

? Ability to workwith individuals from a wide variety of ethnic, cultural and economicbackgrounds; and,

? Ability toidentify and resolve guest issues.
