Adecco is working with a local diary product manufacturer in St. Albans, VT to find a Maintenance Supervisor. This role is on 1st shift Wednesday - Saturday from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This role will provide direction and supervision to maintenance employees to ensure the effective delivery of maintenance services.

Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and delegate daily maintenance tasks, ensuring clear direction to staff and overseeing pass-down issues for efficiency and safety.
- Ensure maintenance staff comprehension of work practices and procedures.
- Assist maintenance manager in completing preventative maintenance work orders on time and addressing daily maintenance needs.
- Support and implement preventative maintenance programs, adjusting schedules as necessary.
- Serve as primary contact for emergency maintenance requests.
- Supervise repair and maintenance of all plant equipment.
- Contribute to developing maintenance department procedures and policies.
- Maintain records using computerized maintenance management systems.
- Facilitate root cause analysis for breakdowns, ensuring timely resolution.
- Aid in capital and special projects as directed by maintenance manager.
- Coordinate with inventory personnel to ensure adequate spare parts supply.
- Demonstrate independent decision-making capability when supervisor is unavailable.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and codes related to mechanical and electrical systems.
- Provide staff training on existing and new equipment.
- Conduct supervisory tasks such as promotions, transfers, timekeeping, evaluations, and employee development.
- Adhere to company's GMP standards and regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and education blend.
- 2 to 5 years of maintenance or relevant experience, with demonstrated leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience.
- Preferred certifications/licenses: electrical, welding, boiler, refrigeration, compressed air, wastewater, or plumbing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive understanding of facility equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems.
- Familiarity with supervision, training, and personnel management principles.
- Ability to lead and train others in safe procedures.
- Competency in all preventive, productive, predictive, and scheduled maintenance tasks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Strong organizational and planning skills with independent judgment.
- Demonstrated initiative and accountability in daily responsibilities.
- Adaptability to changing operational requirements and leading others through change.
- Skilled in team selection, coaching, development, and retention.
