Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary: Provides individualized patient care in the Emergency Department. This care is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety, and learning needs of the individual patients. Performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care at Rose Medical Center. Works in collaboration with the ED techs to maintain supplies, stock and equipment. The RN displays positive support for the mission and values of RMC. Provides care to all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Perform Lab testing as assigned based on protocol of each test, documenting results and communicating critical as defined. Complete competency as required. Follow lab testing safety guidelines, maintenance and QC completion/documentation, and proficiency testing as assigned. Follow "good lab practice" in testing and initiate corrective action as issues occur with test system or result. Educational records (diploma or transcript) are mandatory for staff performing non-waived testing.

Position Requirements:

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross. TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) and ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) required within 6 months of hire date. (Note: ENPC is only required for initial certification time and is not required for renewal.

**Colleagues participating in a transition to practice program must have all required certifications at the completion of their program and transition to independent practice.

B. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred.

C. Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years experience preferred. May be modified at the discretion of the Director.
