Summer School Teachers - High School

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world’s best private schools, where students from lower-income families, who are looking for greater opportunity, can explore their individual interests to the fullest. Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey, the school is fully endowed with the resources to ensure every child and staff member has what they need to succeed. The school has prepared nearly 12,000 graduates to lead fulfilling and productive lives and is expanding to serve more students in the coming years.

MHS is seeking teachers to provide summer instruction to students in the high school in a manner consistent with the regular school year: planning lessons, providing engaging classroom instruction with effective classroom management, and conducting assessments. Teachers are needed for the following areas:

• High School English (grades:9/10/11)
• American & World Cultures
• Biology
• Chemistry
• Earth & Environmental Science
• Elementary Education
• English
• Government / Economics
• Healthy Lifestyles
• Math/Algebra I & II/ Geometry
• Physics
• Reading
• Science
• Social Studies

The 2024 Summer School start date is on July 15th (ending on August 2nd) and pays $35.00/hour. Work hours may vary depending on programming and school needs. Prior to the 7/15/24 start date, all new Summer School Teachers will need to attend training (paid).

• College Degree in related field.
  
• Successful prior teaching experience.
  
• Teaching Certification (first preference to those with certification in content taught).
  
• CPR/First Aid Certification, a plus.
  
• Candidates should demonstrate a high degree of integrity, as all MHS staff are role models for MHS students.
