Job Summary: 

Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating human resource activities, policies, and programs for the organization. Plan and execute HR functions strategically, such as compensation and benefits, training and development, occupational safety, employee communications, the employee experience, and employee relations.

 

Essential Functions: 

  • Collaborate with executive team and Precinmac leadership to ensure alignment of HR goals and strategies with organizational goals.
  • Lead and provide support to the HR team to ensure daily functions are operating efficiently, effectively and in accordance with corporate values and legal compliance: 
    1. recruiting, onboarding, learning and development, retention activities, performance management, compensation processes, disciplinary processes, terminations and unemployment claims.
  • Lead and provide support to the Environmental, Health & Safety function. 
  • Ensure all Affirmative Action and EEO compliance activities are met.
  • Ensure the best recruiting strategies are utilized to hire top talent. Engage in recruiting efforts and specific search activities as necessary.
  • Oversee FMLA and ADAAA compliance and assist in resolving any issues in these areas.
  • Collaborate with other Precinmac HR Leaders to ensure appropriate HR standards and policies are in place. 
  • Act as the lead for facilitating employee issues, investigations and other significant events requiring HR expertise to resolve.
  • Provide support to Payroll and Benefits Administrator when necessary.
  • Participate in Precinmac HR Steering Committee and collaborative meetings with other Precinmac HR leaders.
  • Actively participate in the executive leadership for the company and as requested for Precinmac wide initiatives and activities.
  • Develop and manage annual budget for the HR department.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Have strong leadership, organizational and public speaking skills.
  • Communicate well at all levels of the organization, in both written and verbal forms.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills 
  • Collaborative leadership style 
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office suite of products, and database use in ERP, HRIS and ATS.
  • Advanced knowledge of Human Resource functions, state and federal employment regulations.
  • Knowledge of business management and finance topics

 

Education and Experience: 

Bachelor’s Degree in HR or closely related field. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Human Resources. 

 

Essential Mental Functions:

Emotional stability and personal maturity are important attributes in this position. Must understand vague and implicit instructions and react professionally in all situations.   Must be mentally adaptable in dealing with a variety of people, emotions and potential frustrations and able to handle difficult situations. Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions under pressure. Must have a long attention span in order to listen to people, perceive the real problems, and bring issues to a successful conclusion.

 

Essential Physical Functions:

Frequent mobility an/or sitting required for extended periods of time.  Some bending and stooping required.  Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, copier, telephone and other office equipment.  Requires normal range of hearing and vision to communicate with employees/applicants, and to record, prepare, and communicate accurate reports.  

 

Safety Requirements:

  • Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk of substantial harm to the safety or health of himself/herself or others.
  • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all the employer’s safety policies and rules. Must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.

 

Equipment Used (but not limited to):

General office equipment, such as copier, fax, telephone, computer etc.  

 

Availability:

  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
  • Must be available and willing to work time required as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

 

Travel:

Must be available and willing to travel as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

 

Working Conditions:

Works in a typical office setting.  Frequently spends time in a typical manufacturing shop environment.  May occasionally travel to seminars and meetings.
