Special need of Saturday (day/evening) and Sunday (evening) shifts.

Make a difference! Exciting opportunity providing mental health crisis stabilization services located in Manhattan, KS and serving a ten-county area. Crisis Stabilization provides 24/7 care to adults in mental health crisis at our newly designed facility. The service provides assessments, crisis intervention, referrals and coordination of care as well as being able to admit and care for adults for up to ten days. Team members will provide therapeutic programming, basic cares, monitoring and ensuring a safe, healing environment while transitioning back to community-based services. Team members will also serve the community taking crisis telephone calls and troubleshooting situations and circumstances. Additionally, all team members provide ancillary services for the upkeep and running of the facility.

Roles include Mental Health Technicians that will provide the foundation of minute-to-minute care, Crisis Case Managers who will coordinate care, and Qualified Mental Health Professionals who will provide clinical assessment and interventions. Flexibility and cohesiveness of all roles is required. Since this is a brand-new program, team members must expect changes in processes and procedures as we will continually strive to improve to provide the best care. Fluidity in roles and responsibilities is required. Excellent customer service is expected. Previous experiences in an inpatient or residential setting is helpful.

Openings for evening and night shifts as well as weekends. Evening (1500 2330), and NOC/night (2300 0730).

Essential Job Functions:

  • Respond to requests to crisis services by performing emergent intakes and/or individual or family therapy services as needed in assigned areas. Response must occur within 60 minutes of contact being made.
  • Complete emergent crisis assessments and state mental health screens.
  • Collaborate and consult with other professionals on behalf of clients.
  • Meet and comply with all administrative and clinical documentation requirements for clinical staff.
  • Attend and actively participate in clinical supervision.
  • Aid in access to recommended services such as inpatient hospitalization, substance abuse services, outpatient therapy, child rehabilitation services, adult rehabilitation services, and psychiatric services.

Other Job Functions:

Collaborate with other Pawnee team members and other outside providers in the coordination of appropriate services.

Will help maintain the inner workings of the Crisis Stabilization Center which includes but not limited to, general care and support of consumers, daily operations, and housekeeping of the unit.

Will support other staff members as needed which will be outside of typical job duties.

Will provide individual, group, and family services with consumers.

Staff able to assess, make decisions, and are willing provide deescalating skills in intense situations.

Are able to carry out all job duties with minimal supervision.

Will complete the annual health screening requirements.

Will be certified in Basic CPR, First Aid and CPI.

Will also be required to:

  • Meet and comply with expected administrative and clinical documentation requirements.
  • Meet direct service expectations and comply with other established productivity standards as established.
  • Attend and actively participate in clinical supervision and program staffing. Provide input to supervisors and other treatment team members regarding clinical and program issues.
  • Coordinate services between agencies on behalf of the client.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in social work (LMSW, LSCSW), Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT, LCMFT), Counseling (LPC, LCPC) or a closely related field. The education degree shall be from an accredited institutional setting.
  • Licensed by the Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board of the State of Kansas and meet the statutory definition of Qualified Mental Health Professional.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills using the English language.
  • Basic personal computer skills required; experience with Microsoft Office software preferred.
  • Results of criminal and all other applicable background checks must meet the approval of Pawnee Mental Health Services.
