Based in Manassas, VA, you will be working alongside a dynamic team of network engineers. Your team is fully responsible for the design, optimization, deployment and support of the Network Firewalls and security aspects. This Agile team engages in the product evolution, covering network architecture and design, development, configuration, quality assurance, security, operations and IT infrastructure aspects.
You will work in a truly international environment with main hubs across three continents. We have global reach and impact but operate fast as we are a relatively small company.

What to expect in this role:
Work with the Product Owner and Squad members to design, develop, test, configure, upgrade and maintain Fortinet and Checkpoint Firewalls with virtual instances (VDOM/VSX) in line with agreed requirements
Work with your team to implement and operate your solutions
Deploy infrastructure and network software according to our change management processes
Collaborate with our internal and external customers following DevOps/Agile principles and best practices
Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation
Interact and collaborate with other internal teams to ensure excellent customer satisfaction
Handle issues always focusing on continuous improvement: you will automate, educate and share knowledge transparently

This position is mission critical and offers flexible work (minimum 2 days onsite and maximum 3 days from home per week)
Willing to perform weekend deployment activities and on-call on a rotational basis with peer team members (Estimated: One Saturday out of 4 weekends)

Act as a technical lead to bring in Network Architecture design and drive to implementation
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
Technical skills & knowledge
Required technical skills
Hands-on experience with Fortinet and Checkpoint Firewalls or similar technologies
Hand-on experience with Firewall management platforms FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, Checkpoint Smart-1
Familiarity with security policy management tools like Algosec Security Management System
Familiarity with SD-WAN and Zero Trust
Knowledge of Cisco ACI
Capable of troubleshooting complex network flows, interconnectivity, performance and configuration issues
Provisions/executes firewall requests in accordance with security policies and standards on all environments
Familiarity with concepts like Zero Touch/Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
Scripting in Shell, Python or Perl

Desired technical skills
Certification in Fortinet FCP/FCSS Network Security, Checkpoint CCSA/CCSE, Cisco CCNA
Daily and Weekly FW rule-base management (provisioning, assurance etc.,)
Contribute, plan and execute Firewall product roadmap/evolution upgrades and new features
Independently deploy a new infrastructure/environment i.e. from High Level Design to Detailed Design to Deployment
Identifies problems and inefficiencies within our network and organizational workflows and assists with any recommended remediation/ changes to correct (example: script and automate routine tasks)
Participate in the evaluation of new network technologies
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow tools for collaboration
Knowledge/experience operating in Linux operating system

Additional assets:
Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline and Automation technologies for build and deployment Ansible, Jenkins
Good knowledge of IT security
Mentor junior colleagues

Education & Experience
University degree in computer science or related field. Or equivalent work experience.
6-10 years of experience in a technical operational support area

PLEASE NOTE: Besides hybrid work environment, suitable candidate should be available for weekend deployments every 3 or 4 weeks.
