Job Requirements:

Intern Requirements & Qualifications (applies to all internships):

· Ability to work long hours and be flexible with scheduling

· Strong interpersonal communication skills

· Ability to work under pressure

· A computer background is beneficial

· Must be able to work through the duration of summer months

· Must possess a high level of self-discipline, persistence and patience. Must be able to recognize and solve problems

· Ability to motivate, improve teamwork and raise morale among employees. Often engaging in difficult and stressful work

Evaluations:

The mentor and intern will perform weekly meetings and evaluations. The intern will be responsible for providing HIS with any necessary paperwork required by an individual’s school. The intern will also provide HIS with a written assessment of their experiences and observations of the operations for suggestions and improvements.

Housing:

Limited housing is available. More information available upon request

Compensation:

Salary, wages, incentives will be discussed in the interview process. Based on experience and availability

Pointer Boat Sales, Event Services & Host Intern Job Responsibilities:

· Well spoken, charismatic, sales driven individual

· Dressed in black pants/capris, white Pointer Boat shirt, black no slip shoes, nametag, hair neat and restrained

· Background in Food and Beverage is welcomed but not required

· Will train the right individual for this position

· Phone etiquette and computer knowledge ~ A MUST

· Work closely with management and Pointer Boat staff to make special memories for guests

· Confirmation calls and emails to not miss Food and Beverage Sales

· Make lunch or dinner reservations for the guests before or after their boat ride

· Communicate F & B orders to expo, chef and bar

· For each boat ride - greet guests at the front door, show them down to boat, offer to take photos of boat leaving, email/text them their photos

· When boat comes back, greet all guests

· Email the guests who had boat rides the day before. Inquire about how it went & how was service.

· Check in with Chamber next door and let them know if we have seats available and check on our marketing supplies. Bring more if needed. Let manager know if we need to order more

· Keep up with manifest and ticket sales for the day

· Handle guest requests and demands as appropriate

· It is the responsibility of the intern to bring a positive attitude and willingness to learn

· Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
