Activities Specialist – Residential Program Main Campus

  • Full-time, 32 hours with e/o weekend
  • Part-time, 24 hours with e/o weekend

Shift is late afternoon into evening

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain communication with treatment team for quality patient care
  • Completion of documentation for patients daily – notes to be completed same day of service
  • Plan recreational activities to meet the needs of the residents
  • Train Residential Care Associates on implementation of recreational activities
  • Maintain appropriate list of needs/supplies and submit to supervisor on a regular basis
  • Provide group activities for residents daily
  • Provide assistance when needed with resident care, to include restraint and seclusion
  • Maintain group schedule and provide a copy to supervisor
  • Maintain accurate record keeping
  • Maintain communication with multidisciplinary treatment teams to assure quality resident care
  • Assist with treatment plan goals as needed based on resident needs
  • Attend meetings as scheduled by supervisor
  • Appropriately document location of services daily
  • Mandated reporting as required


Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with recreational activity planning/implementation in healthcare setting
  • Must be organized and able to manage behaviors in a group setting
  • Ability to work with all ages
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instruction given
