Truss Craft of Montana, a Mead Lumber Company, founded in 1910, is 100% Employee Owned, and listed in the Lumber Building Materials Journal as the 18 largest Pro Contractor lumber/building materials retailer in the country. Mead operates 52 Lumber Yard, Retail, Truss Plant, and Component locations across nine Midwestern states.

The Commercial OSR will create, foster and sustain valuable customer relationships with architects, developers and general contractors. This individual will be responsible for prospecting, material takeoffs (as needed), job site visits, preconstruction meetings, and project management. To act as the day-to-day central point of contact on commercial projects overseeing materials, special order, scheduling, delivery, quality control and warranty. The Commercial OSR will increase brand and product awareness, cultivating new customers and managing existing customer relationships. Provide feedback to management in regard to needs of the customers.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Achieve sales and gross margin goals.
  • Develop and execute annual business plan.
  • Create valuable customer relationships.
  • Attend industry events.
  • Network with others in the Commercial Construction industry.
  • Understand costs, pricing, overhead as percent of sales.
  • Facilitates the estimating of project materials per customer’s request.
  • Review architectural/structural blueprints and specifications to determine bid requirements and substitutions.
  • Carefully spell out the scope of work and bring attention to substitutions and exclusions.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess an understanding of building materials.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industry.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
