Description:Food Runner

Department: Dining Room

Reports To: General Manager and Dining Room Managers

Summary: The Food runner is responsible for properly delivering dishes to guests.

Runners at Fabio Trabocchi Restaurants provide guest-service to the highest quality standard. Primary daily duties include preparing the restaurant dining room for service, efficiently and graciously and confidently serving, and describing guest-orders to seated guests while maintaining constant communication with restaurant team members to ensure speed of service and service-quality standards are met in order for guests to be treated to memorable hospitality experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Conducts daily dining room and kitchen inspections.
  • Sets up kitchen service stations according to layout standards.
  • Sets up the bread and coffee stations. Prepares bread and coffee.
  • Assists in setting up the dining room.
  • Maintains dining room (tables and stations) cleanliness and organization.
  • Maintains dining room and kitchen station par-levels during service.
  • Cleans and polishes items needed at the front-of-house.
  • Assists Bussers with bread and water service.
  • Marks tables during service.
  • Runs, serves, and describes guest-orders as per Fabio Trabocchi Restaurants standards.
  • Clears dirty and used dishes from tables and service stations.
  • Replaces used dishes and silverware.
  • Restocks condiments as needed.
  • Removing and emptying trash bins as needed.
  • Clears and re-sets tables.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization at all kitchen service stations, including the dish area.
  • Assists in counting China, glass, silverware, and linen.
  • Conducts all required Opening, Side-Work, Hand-Over and Closing Duties as outlined by Fabio Trabocchi Restaurants and management.
  • Performs additional tasks at the direction of management.

Note: You may be called upon from time to time to perform other duties that may not be included in your job description at your manager’s/supervisor’s discretion.
