TITLE: Speech Language Pathologist, PRN

REPORTS TO: Designated Teachers and Education Director

STATUS: Non-Exempt

LOCATION: This job can be on-site or remote or a combination of both


JOB SUMMARY

Provide Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) Therapy and related services for students while maintaining positive levels of interaction with facilities and clients in accordance with the principles and practices of Speech-Language Pathology therapy and within Logan River Academy guidelines. Provide quality client care including screening and evaluation of students, providing input to ongoing treatment plans of care, and maintaining case management responsibilities. Maintain professional conduct aligned with Logan River Academy’s code of conduct and adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding speech-language pathology therapy.


PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

1. Optimize communication, cognitive-linguistic abilities, and swallowing skills of patients by providing, directing, and/or overseeing speech therapy.

2. Enhance clinical expertise, professional and management skills through interaction with managers, therapists and other professional staff, self-study, and other continuing education activities.

3. Maintain awareness of issues related to the profession of speech-language pathology therapy and the health care environment.

4. Be compliant with infection control procedures and environmental safety protocol within our facility.

5. Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend in English: instructions, correspondence, charts, memos, and reports.

6. Participate in classroom/team meetings.

7. Attend IEP meetings and provide required services and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS


1. Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology. Education must be obtained from an accredited program. Degree will be verified.

2. Current state Speech Pathologist license.

3. Current certificate of clinical competence.

4. Experience in working with adolescents preferred.

5. Strong oral and written communication skills.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS


1. Hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, pulling/pushing, seeing, sitting, speaking, squatting/kneeling, standing, and walking.

2. Trained and able to safely manage student behaviors when hands-on is required.
