Special Education Teacher- Northern VA

Our client is seeking dedicated Special Education Teacher(s) to join the renowned public and private K12 educational institutions in the Northern Virginia area. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and implementing instructional practices to support students' Individualized Education Programs (IEP's). In collaboration with parents and other IEP Team members, you will promote a collaborative relationship with school staff that fosters inclusive practices.

SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
*Utilize knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the education of students with disabilities to deliver effective instruction.
*Instruct students in all areas specified by the IEP and develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs.
*Plan, integrate, and utilize technology for classroom instruction.
*Encourage and motivate students while establishing a continuous feedback loop for all learning activities.
*Participate in the development and implementation of Behavioral Intervention Plans.
*Attend staff development and special education committee meetings as required.
*Compile and maintain the special education component of Student Education Records as outlined in the Special Education Manual.
*Perform other duties within the limits of special education regulation as assigned by the Director of Education and Director of Related Services.

CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's Degree required; Master's degree preferred.
* Virginia teaching license with endorsements in the disability area served.
* Must possess complete endorsement or a conditional license and working toward complete endorsement at a rate of a minimum of six semester hours per year.
