Job Summary

The Production Support Technician is responsible for cleaning production areas and production equipment using manual hand tools or power equipment to ensure facility cleanliness.

Essential Job Functions

  • This position is responsible for cleaning floors, walls, tanks, pumps, motors, and other equipment in the production area by using manual hand tools or power equipment to ensure facility cleanliness
  • Cleaning duties include but aren’t limited to, sweeping, mopping, squeegeeing, washing with a hose or pressure washer, etc.
  • Perform basic general maintenance and cleaning on production equipment and in the facility
  • Assists in performing Clean In Place (CIP) on production lines as assigned
  • Works in confined spaces to remove or clean equipment as necessary
  • Perform handling, transportation and storage of recycled or reprocessed product or materials
  • Collects product samples, performs samples tests and documents results accurately
  • Assists in operating the 1,000kg packaging machine as needed
  • Documents work performed according to company guidelines
  • Reports production malfunctions or irregularities to supervisory staff as necessary
  • Performs hole watch or fire watch as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • This position works 12-hour shifts (36 / 48 hours per week alternating, rotating nights & days every 4 weeks), which includes days, nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
  • This position works in a manufacturing environment, which includes exposures to moving mechanical parts, high noise levels, vibrations, varying atmospheric conditions and temperatures, hazardous chemicals, high pressure steam, dust and water.
  • This position requires the ability to stand and walk up to 80% of the shift, frequently walk extended distances, ascend/descend stairs extended distances, ascend/descend ladders, close/distance vision, regularly lift up to 50lbs, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Regularly uses manual hand tools such as a broom, mop, squeegee, hose, etc. Occasionally operates power equipment such as tools, pressure washers, scissor lift, reach truck and forklift. Occasional confined space entry, working at heights, lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, ascending/descending ladders, climbing or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Production experience preferred, but not required.
