Head Start Home Visitors

Location:
Multiple locations in Brazos Valley, Texas (Bryan, Neal, Navasota, Hearne, Brenham, Madisonville)

Are you passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to supporting families in their homes? We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate individuals to join our team as Head Start Home Visitors. As a Home Visitor, you will be an essential link between our program and families, providing vital support and guidance directly within the comfort of their homes.

Position: Head Start Home-Visitor


Job Overview: As a Home Visitor, you will play a pivotal role in promoting the well-being and development of children and families. You will conduct home visits, offer valuable resources, and empower families to create nurturing and stimulating environments that support their children's growth and learning.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct regular home visits to engage families in the Head Start program.
  • Utilize the Head Start Program Performance Standards to assess family needs and strengths.
  • Collaborate with parents to develop individualized family plans that address their unique goals and aspirations.
  • Offer developmentally appropriate activities and materials to support children's learning and development.
  • Provide guidance and support to parents on topics such as child health, nutrition, and positive parenting practices.
  • Assist families in accessing community resources and services.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of family assessments, goals, and progress.
  • Foster strong relationships with families, promoting their active participation in program activities and workshops.
  • Collaborate with program staff and community partners to ensure comprehensive services for families.
Minimum Qualifications (as per Head Start Program Performance Standards):


  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain your Home Based CDA Credential, Infant Toddler Credential or Center Based CDA as determined by the organization through participating in employer provided professional development..
  • Willing to work with children aged from birth to 5 years old.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse families and communities.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage families in a respectful and supportive manner.
  • Commitment to the principles of family-centered practice and family empowerment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive environment
  • Ability to pass required backgrounds and health survey.
