Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps the dish area free of clutter and organized. Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks. Maintains clean/dry floors throughout the shift.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Load, run and unload the dish machine.
- Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
- Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
- Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware.
- Keep the dish room clean and organized.
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for the dining room and kitchen.
- Bag and haul dish room trash to the dumpster at designated times.
- Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
- Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies.
- Clean food preparation and production areas as required.
- Break down all cardboard from shipments.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
- Communicate any supply needs to Management.
Skills and Abilities Required
- Superior customer service and hospitality skills
- Knowledgeable of proper sanitation, food safety, and security procedures
- Skill in time management and organization with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and execute team and company objectives
- Ability to maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period of time
- Must be willing to have fun!
Education and Experience Required
- No previous experience necessary.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver bags and trays frequently weighing up to 20-25 lbs.
- Be able to work in a hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods of time.
- Ability to access online scheduling app.
