KPC Promise Hospital of SALT LAKE: Under direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant administers physical therapy services in accordance with current applicable federal, state/local standards and regulations and within the scope of practice, consistent with the Code of Ethics of the profession. The PTA is responsible for carrying out goal oriented treatment to facilitate increased mobility, increased strength and decreased pain so as to restore, reinforce and enhance performance. In addition, the PTA instructs, educates, and trains patients and caregivers in those skills and functions essential for promoting independence and productivity in order to diminish or correct pathology.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Associate Degree from CAPTE (Commission for Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education) certified program.
  2. Must hold a current state license and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the applicable state licensing board.
  3. Long term acute care and rehabilitation experience is preferred.
  4. Must be able to read, write, and speak English, as well as possess good verbal and written communications skills.
  5. Basic computer skills with minimal guidance

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Physical: Walking - up to 75% Standing - up to 50% Kneeling -up to 75%

Sitting- up to 25% Pushing - up to 50% Bending -up to 75%

Squatting - up to 50% Pulling - up to 50% Reaching -up to 25%

Wrist/Finger Movements - up to 90%

Lifting - up to 50 pounds

Mental: Stress Level: Moderate

EXPOSURE RISK: Category I - Jobs in which required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or potential spills or splashes. Use of appropriate measures is required for every healthcare provider in these jobs.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS, MACHINES USED: Beds, scales, lifts, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot packs/cold packs, ADL equipment/assistive devices, orthotics, splints, prosthetics, B/P cuff, stethoscope, pulse oximeter, telephone, facsimile machine, copier, printers, computers

CERTIFICATIONS: CPR Certification
