GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Registration of patients scheduled for imaging exam(s) within the imaging centers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Verification of various attributes pertaining to the registration of a patient prior to an exam appointment including, but not limited to, patient demographics, insurance benefits, physician order accuracy, etc.
  • Interact positively with patients while he or she is at the imaging center.
  • Effectively communicate with physician offices regarding patient matters
  • Provide quality customer service in all types of patient interactions.
  • Handle initial or follow up scheduling inquiries and problems via the telephone.
  • Handle situations, which may require research and/or troubleshooting
  • Receive telephone calls, which are non-routine and require deviation from standard screens, scripts, and procedures.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience of working within a customer service or medical office environment is desirable but not essential. Experience in a medical imaging environment is preferred.

Work Shift: M-F (Evenings/Saturdays as needed)

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Radiology and/or medical terminology a plus
  • Experience with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent phone skills with ability to multi-task.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Basic typing
