Job Description

Overview:

Directs and controls the work process. Informs employees of receiving schedules and goals. Trains new employees. Interprets company policies and procedures to employees, works with employees to resolve job problems. Organizes work site, delegates assignments, responsible for scheduling employees and notifying them of their start and quit time, and evaluates work. Makes corrections and follows up to see that instructions have been carried out. Recommends disciplinary action or termination.  Responsibilities will include signing in and out of truck drivers and completing appropriate paperwork. Keeps supervisor informed of schedules and job progress. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in their work process. Listen to and work with employee grievances. Enforces and instructs on safety rules and regulations.

  • Identifies waste and takes action to correct
  • Types manifest, export papers and bills of laden in an accurate and timely manner
  • Schedules appointments with truck drivers to drop off orders
  • May perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications

Here's what you'll bring to the table:

  • Ability to read and write English well enough to effectively execute duties
  • Ability to do general mathematical functions using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to file and recall material in a standard filing system
  • Must have basic computer literacy
  • Must be able to work in close office environment with several other staff. Answer the telephone in a professional manner
  • Bi-lingual, English/Spanish desirable
  • Willing to work long hours if needed
  • Shipping, receiving, warehousing experience preferable
  • Customer service oriented
