Survey Crew Member

ESP Associates, Inc. is currently seeking candidates to join our survey team. This is a great opportunity to travel and grow your survey career with a dynamic Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm!

Candidate will be required to assist the survey field crew leader in performing bridge, culvert, dam, and natural cross section surveys along streams and rivers for floodplain mapping, aerial ground control surveys to calibrate and QC orthoimagery and lidar data sets, acoustic bathymetric surveys, static 3D laser scanning, mobile lidar control panel surveys, storm water asset inventory collection and any other survey-related tasks for various clients.

This position will involve traveling out-of-town/state; extensively at times depending on the location and duration of projects. Benefits include out of town meal/lodging expenses, overtime opportunities and competitive pay.

Responsibilities:

• Working knowledge of how to operate the following Trimble survey equipment:
  1. Robotic Total Stations, data collectors, GPS receivers and DiNi digital levels
• Familiarity with operating static 3D laser scanners (Leica and Riegl preferred)
• Assisting the survey crew chief in effectively completing survey projects
• Candidate may temporarily work with other survey groups to help meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Any level of education in surveying technology/geomatics, civil engineering or related field is considered a plus.
• Ability to manage extensive walking and frequent lifting of equipment weighing between 50-80lbs.
• Candidate should have basic computer skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish) communication skills are preferred.
• Candidate must be dependable, responsible, have a positive work attitude and a desire to learn
• Willingness to work outdoors around/within various environments (roadside, waterside and remote).
• Ability to travel throughout the United States.
• Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
