POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary function of a Finisher 1 is to complete the surface finish of the product by removing machine lines, and breaking sharp edges while also maintaining or establishing dimensions to print.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the position):

For the assigned area and products:
•Understands surface finish requirements and is capable of knowing which abrasives and methods to use to attain the required finish.
•Identify finish requirements from customer prints and or specifications.
•Demonstrated ability to use measurement equipment including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparator
•Identify established dimensions and complete in-process inspections and document results on the in-process inspection sheet.
•Knowledge of blast media types and can identify media to use to achieve customer requirements.
•Knowledge of vibratory finishing and can identify which type of media will provide the desired finish and most effectively remove burrs from the product.
•Can read and understand shop travelers and identify any special process or work instruction specified.
•Ability to follow safety procedures and good housekeeping practices.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
•High School Diploma or equivalent.
•Previous finishing experience preferred.
•Ability to read blueprints.
•Ability to use micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, and height gauge as required.

NONESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS (not necessary but preferred):
•Understanding of GD&T.
•Experienced using computers ( data acquisition )

•Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment.
•Eyesight and hearing must be correctable to a standard level.
•Ability to stand for a minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours per day.
•Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs and up to 50lbs daily.


3rd Shift Schedule is Monday through Friday: 11:00 pm to 7:30 am
Some Saturday hours may be available.
Overtime is occasionally available with manager permission.
The workday is 8.5 hours with a break before and after the unpaid half-hour mid-shift meal break.
