Allegiance Staffing is actively looking for a grinder operator for the 1st shift 7am-7pm M-F. Job location: Spartanburg. Pay rate 17-20/hr based on experience.
Qualified candidates must have grinding, CNC or metal work experience. (2+ years of experience preferred)
Duties:
• Operating grinding machine (30” wheel). Select grinding wheels (30” dia.) according to knowledge of metal properties and abrasives.
• Grind roll up to 2,000mm dia., 14,000mm length.
• Mount wheels to hub.
• Make roll measurements and roll track measurements.
• Maintain close tolerance (microns).
• Use and maintain a variety of precision measuring / inspection equipment
• Check roll diameters.
• Make hardness and smoothness checks.
• Perform daily machine/equipment maintenance including routine oil and filter changes and greasing machine and maintain equipment service records.

Qualifications/Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of auto mechanic experience
• Ability to read and use tape measures, calipers and micrometers, including metric measurements.
• Good mechanical aptitude and mechanical experience with good working knowledge and experience with powered hand tools.
• Knowledge of hydraulics helpful.
• Experience using lift trucks and overhead cranes desired.
• Must be able to lift 50-60 lbs. and work up to 12 hour shift on concrete floor.
• Ability to train for operation of all machines.
