Facilities Manager

Job Summary:
La Mère Academy, a premier daycare and preschool in Leander, Texas, is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of our facilities. This is a full-time hourly position that requires someone with strong technical and labor skills. The Facilities Manager will be an individual contributor responsible for ensuring that our facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for our students, staff, and families. This role reports directly to the Director of Operations.

Compensation & Benefits:
The Facilities Manager position at La Mère Academy offers a competitive hourly rate of $24 to $28 per hour, paid biweekly. Along with the competitive salary, we also offer benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and 401k.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive facilities maintenance plan that includes regular inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks
- Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repair work performed by external contractors
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work, expenses, and warranties
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry repairs
- Oversee custodial services and ensure that all areas of the facility are kept clean and sanitized
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and codes
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility to identify any potential hazards or maintenance needs
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Manage inventory of supplies and equipment for facility maintenance and custodial services
- Collaborate with other departments and staff to address any facility-related issues or concerns
- Recommend improvements or upgrades to the facility to enhance safety, functionality, and aesthetics

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in facilities maintenance, construction, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance and repairs
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry systems and repairs
- Familiarity with safety regulations, codes, and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work with staff, contractors, and vendors
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed, including nights and weekends
