In the 2024-25 school year, the KIPP Jacksonville region will be comprised of four schools educating more than 3,000 students, kindergarten through twelfth grade in the North and West sides of Jacksonville, Florida.

  • KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 4th grade, 6th - 8th grade 

  • KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade 

  • KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 12th grade

For the current school year, teachers at KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools work the following hours Monday through Friday and may have occasional meetings or special school events outside of these hours. Hours for teachers and students may vary slightly by school.

  • K-8 Staff: 7:30am - 4:30pm K-8 Students: 8:00am - 3:30pm, Wednesday K-8 dismissal is at 1:30pm 

  • High School Staff: 6:45am - 3:45pm, High School Students: 7:15am - 2:30pm, Wednesday High School dismissal is at 12:30pm. 

Every Wednesday is a student early release day, which allows teachers to participate in weekly professional development and content team meetings. *This doesn’t include Wellness Wednesdays when all staff leave at student dismissal.

Job Description

The ideal start date for this role is Summer 2024.

The Recruitment Manager will be an integral member of the talent team for KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools, responsible for building and cultivating relationships with high-quality prospective candidates, screening candidates, and working closely with school teams to ensure schools are fully staffed. The Recruitment Manager (“RM”) furthers our mission by guiding candidates through the recruitment and matriculation process to ensure our students have best-in-class talent in their schools. The RM builds deep relationships with School Leaders, external partners, the Shared Services team, and teachers to accomplish their goals.

This role will focus primarily in the following areas:
(1)   Sourcing and outreach of potential candidates for both immediate and future roles, including attendance at recruitment fairs and community events
(2)   Screening candidates and sharing them with hiring managers
(3)   Keeping meticulous records and updating the applicant tracking system
(4)   Cultivating relationships with candidates from starting an application to their first day on campus

Success would be measured by reaching outreach/sourcing goals as a lever for meeting hiring goals, having high satisfaction survey ratings from candidates in process, high satisfaction ratings from School Leaders, and having ‘clean’ application tracking data. 

The RM is a full-time role on the Shared Services team which oversees four schools currently. As a member of the Shared Services team, this individual would be responsible for doing whatever it takes to ensure that students develop the knowledge, skills, and character strengths they need to succeed throughout their education and in the competitive world beyond.

This position is year-round and performs duties as assigned by their manager. Typical hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. but can vary based on role and season. Some travel to recruitment events during/after normal business hours would be required.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

Sourcing, Outreach, and External Relationship-Building

  • Source and meet with potential candidates for current and future openings (referral programs, cold sourcing, etc.)
  • Develop short- and long-term recruitment calendars in partnership with the talent team to execute best practice strategies and programs to attract a diverse applicant pool
  • Attend recruitment events across the state of Florida (and sometimes in neighboring states) to represent the organization in a professional manner
  • Ability to articulate a deep passion for social justice and educational equity for all children to external parties 
  • Plan high-quality recruitment events that attract potential candidates to the organization

Candidate Cultivation and Communication

  • Act as main point of contact for candidates throughout their recruiting process, including answering emails within a specific time frame and talking to candidates on the phone
  • Create and utilize strong communication touch points for every candidate to ensure high-quality candidate experience, as measured by candidate surveys
  • Screen applicants for specific positions using rubrics, as outlined by the talent team, and communicate scores to applicable hiring managers and talent team members

Internal Relationship Building

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with School Leaders and other hiring managers across the organization by listening to the needs of the hiring manager and translating those needs into key competencies to screen for in candidates
  • Work with School Leaders to coordinate availability, schedule interviews, demo lessons, and/or performance tasks
  • Coordinate offers with School Leaders and HR, as needed, to ensure strong onboarding and matriculating practices are used

Logistics and Data Management:

  • Maintain detailed records of the status for each available position
  • Create detailed outreach records for potential candidates in the applicant tracking system
  • Track metrics related to recruiting (e.g., candidates yielded by each source, time to hire, etc.) to evaluate various strategies and improve hiring efficiency.
  • Own the “day-of” interview/selection process in partnership with School Leaders, including travel coordination with candidates, reference checks, etc.
  • Other tasks as needed by the Talent team or manager

COMPENSATION

  • The starting salary for this position is $51,000 annually

  • Clear project management skills with results
  • Proven ability to adapt quickly with unfamiliar systems
  • Prior experience with SmartRecruiters, or similar ATS is a plus
  • Knowledge of Florida teacher certification pathways is a plus
