IRON MIKE CONSTRUCTION is seeking a Construction Superintendent, this position will have the overall responsibility for the entire construction site among various disciplines on Federal Government projects involving new vertical construction & renovation, highways/roadways, bridges, civil structures, dams, and levees.  Willing to work at various geographical locations which requires travel.

 

The superintendent provides the knowledge, skills and experience required to manage the day‐to‐day field operations of projects that IMC undertakes. IMC's Superintendents are responsible for the production aspects of the work and are accountable for: producing quality work that is constructed consistent with the standard's set forth in the project's contract documents; for performing the work in a timely and cost effective manner and for maintaining a work environment that is safe and continuously kept clean and orderly. The primary focus of IMC's Superintendent is to provide the managerial and leadership skills necessary to accomplish the work by means of subcontractors and to manage the day‐to‐day issues that may arise with subcontractors or our small self‐performed workforce.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
‐ Able to perform all essential Superintendent responsibilities
‐ Prepare, obtain approval, issue and implement 3 week look ahead schedule in compliance with Owner contract and Company requirements
‐ Insure performance of all required activities within a safe manner and compliance with OSHA and EM 385‐1.
‐ Develop/approve in‐house training and certification standards for the safety and superintendent staff
‐ Act as liaison with Owner, regulatory agencies, subcontractors and/or internal departments on safety related matters as required

- Contractual communications with the Government to include inspection requests, Notices and other communications as required.
‐ Ensure adequate corrective measures are implemented in cases of noncompliance
‐ Supervise and direct on‐site personnel involved in day to day work, technical direction of activities, resolution of problem areas and/or questions
‐ Manage subcontractor’s safety Programs
‐ Insure performance of all specified or required tests to verify that control measures are adequate to provide a product that conforms to contract requirements
‐ Manage Daily Logs in IMC’s Project Management System
‐ Manage RFI’s, ASI’s and assist the Project Manager with submittals in IMC’s Project Management System
‐ Manage weekly updates to onsite “Red Line” as‐built documents
‐ Assist in LEED submittals on a per project basis if the project is pursuing LEED Certification
‐ Perform as directed by Supervisor and Customer.
‐ Complete other responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
‐ Minimum 5 years Commercial Construction Superintendent in new vertical and renovation work is required. (Pay depends on experience)

- Four‐year Engineering or Construction Management degree is a plus but not required.
‐ Specific experience in quality control for Federal, Navy, Air Force, and/or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects is a plus.

-Certificate of completion for the USACE “Construction Quality Management for Contractors” course is a plus.

-OHSA 30 certificate is a plus.

- First Aid/CPR certificate is a plus.
‐ Thorough working knowledge of regulatory agency quality assurance/control activities
‐ Experience on projects covering all aspects of construction to include new vertical construction.
‐ Proven ability to supervise personnel
‐ Excellent English verbal and written communication skill

‐ Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
• Occasional exposure to dust and fumes
• Requires frequent stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 40 or more lbs
• Ability to hear, and talk, and possess depth perception
• Occasional climbing and carrying
• The noise intensity level is moderate
• Willing to work at various geographical locations which may require travel
