Position Summary:

In this role, the Clinical Assistant will assist in the overall care and supervision of residents. The Clinical Assistant will function in a professional manner and evidence of a positive attitude in all aspects of work. The performance of all duties will be consistent with Bradford’s philosophy, enhance the therapeutic environment and protect the confidentiality of all patients

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Be aware of where residents are at all times, circulating around the facility on a regular basis
  • Assists in client orientation to facility and program
  • Assure that all clients follow the program schedule and are on time for each assignment
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate and relate to residents clearly and effectively
  • Reports any infractions of policy to administration
  • Supervise client activities as directed
  • Assure that clients are in their rooms at the designated times in the evening
  • Attend staff training programs as scheduled
  • Provide emotional support and assistance to clients in crisis, under direction of the clinical team
  • Participates in transport and supervision of clients to and from activities
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in non-violent crisis interventions
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality with respect to patient and potential patient interactions and identifying information
  • Regular attendance, do other related jobs which are necessary to the daily operation of The Estate, and as requested by therapist and the Supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to work with male and female, adult (18-over) substance abuse/dual diagnosed population
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid Driver’s license and a safe driving record

Education:

  • High School graduate or GED

Physical Requirements:

  • Must walk within the facility and on the grounds for approximately 1 mile per 12-hour shift
  • Must be capable of administering CPR (Certification required)
  • Must be able to bend and stoop from a standing position to the floor
  • Must be able to stand continuously in increments of 45 minutes to 1 hour
  • Must be able to physically assist a disoriented or intoxicated resident of average weight of 140 to 170 lbs from the floor to a chair or bed.
  • Must be emotionally and physically capable of functioning under stressful situations.
  • If recovering, 1 year of continuous verifiable abstinence
