Job Description

Automotive equipment manufacturer needs a Director of Maintenance for their 800-person plant. You will manage a team of about fifty employees who drive efficiencies in equipment safety, reliability, preventive maintenance, equipment installations, modifications, and repairs. This job requires a four-year degree, preferably in engineering, and several years of management experience working in an automated factory environment.

 

Please note that this job is in a Memphis, Tennessee suburban location. Relocation assistance is available. This is an excellent company with great benefits. This job cannot be performed remotely.

 

Responsibilities

 

· Work with Production, Engineering, and Environmental Health and Safety to ensure the safety, reliability, and optimization of production processes.

· Review preventative maintenance schedules to improve equipment reliability with available maintenance resources

· Coordinate with external contractors for maintenance support and subject matter expertise to meet maintenance requirements.

· Prioritize maintenance activities and assist Maintenance Managers and supervisors to give efficient and immediate response to the breakdowns.

· Determine compliance standards and safety in maintenance practices.

· Manage maintenance budget and spending.

· Review training requirements and deficiencies for all mechanical and electrical maintenance personnel to ensure safe and correct performance.

· Participate in Root Cause Investigations for equipment failures.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but will consider other degrees with appropriate experience.

· Several years of management experience with a maintenance team of at least 30-40 people.

· You should have earlier hands-on experience in troubleshooting complex mechanical equipment, which involves knowledge about hydraulics, pneumatics, CNC machines, robotics, and PLC’s, motion control.

· Experience with assembly, machining, welding, stamping processes especially in Automotive Manufacturing.

· Proficiency in a CMMS such as SAP or equivalent.

· Previous work experience in root cause failure mode analysis.

· Experience with Six Sigma methodology
