Downtown Artist & Label Services offers distribution, bespoke marketing solutions, and funding to entrepreneurial artists and their partners, ranging from emerging talent at the forefront of pop culture to the most storied managers and record labels. Downtown Music is owned and operated by Downtown Music Holdings. Downtown allows artists and their partners to achieve the same commercial success on digital sales and streaming platforms that they would expect of a major record label, without sacrificing any ownership in their works, control over their strategy, or their creative vision.

Downtown Artist & Label Services is seeking an enthusiastic Designer, Motion Graphics to join our team!

This role is open to candidates based in Los Angeles.

What you'll be doing:
  • Work with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, pitch, create, and deliver video assets to support client objectives
  • Continue to evolve the team's work and contributions to larger campaign and artist initiatives
  • Create short form content that matches the aesthetic and style on a release, artist and brand level
  • Edit short form video content that is optimized for Meta platforms, TikTok, Youtube, and Spotify
  • Create animated artwork, animated text, call to action etc
  • Trim footage segments and sequence video as well as create motion graphics and design that deliver on client expectations
  • Input music, dialogues, graphic, effects, and sound design
  • Keep assets and final projects organized according to specific naming conventions and follow protocols
  • Use the newest software and technology to create unique and innovative content
  • Storyboard, plan, and shoot various forms of content to advertise and market client products
  • Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices to maximize efficiency
  • Keep up-to-date on latest trends in short-form content, and implement them into your design
  • Handle some static graphic design, as needed by clients
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned

Must-Haves / Requirements:
  • 3+ years working in video editing or motion graphics, preferably in an agency setting
  • Degree in film studies, motion graphics, cinematography or related field
  • Proven work experience as a video editor with a strong portfolio
  • Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g. Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut) Blender or other 3D software preferred
  • Experience with DSLR, mirrorless, and professional camera equipment for potential on-site shooting of editorial and marketing content
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, motion and continuity
  • Familiarity with special effects, 3D and compositing
  • Creative mind and storytelling skills
  • Knowledge of best practices for social media short-form content formats: TikTok, IG Reels, Youtube Shorts
  • Edit short form video content that is optimized for Meta platforms, TikTok, Youtube, and Spotify
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-directed, and able to set priorities while working within a small team
  • Ability to receive and execute creative direction and thrive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must have a passion for web, music and entertainment
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred, but not required

Downtown provides base salary ranges for all positions located in the United States at the time of posting. The hiring range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 annually. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon various factors including, but not limited to, work experience, geographic location and relevant skills. Downtown is committed to providing a comprehensive market-competitive total rewards program for its employees which includes medical, dental, and vision, life insurance, 401(k) match and generous paid time off. This range does not include any other variable compensation components.
