Opportunity for Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant in Maui

Job title: Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant

Company: Hawaii Heart Associates

Location: Wailuku, Maui

About us:

Our group consists of 4 cardiologists and 1 nurse practitioner located in Oahu, Maui, and the island of Hawaii. In addition, we have 2 full time cardiothoracic surgeons and one physician assistant currently operating in Maui.

Position overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motived Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in cardiothoracic surgery and be passionate about providing the highest level of care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with cardiothoracic conditions.
  2. Perform pre-op evaluations including history and physical evaluations.
  3. Assist in surgical procedures including but not limited to coronary artery bypass grafting, valve replacement, and lung resection.
  4. Manage post-operative care in the ICU and step-down units.
  5. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop care plans.
  6. Provide patient education and participate in quality improvement.

Qualifications:

  1. Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  2. Current certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  3. Minimum of two years of experience, working as a Physician Assistant in Cardiothoracic Surgery to include operating room experience.
  4. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of cardiovascular thoracic anatomy and physiology.
  5. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Current BLS and ACLS certification.
