As the Continuous Improvement Coordinator, you will analyze current company procedures for effectiveness and performance, then make suggestions to management on how to streamline and improve them. You will utilize our Line Event Data system (RedZone) to implement improvements, communicate across different levels of the business, and assist in the improvement of our training program. The incumbent will work closely with plant managers, safety, quality assurance technicians, maintenance, supervisors, and Team Members to monitor production on a regular basis and find ways to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

Report To: Continuous Improvement Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates CI efforts on the production floor to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Provides training to different teams to utilize CI/Lean tools (Kaizen, 5S, Problem Solving, etc.)
  • Assist in creating training programs within Line Event Data system (RedZone) with the following functions:
    • Implement Standard Processes.
    • Manage team knowledge matrix.
    • Assist with onboarding of new hires.
  • Leads CI/Lean events with cross-functional groups.
  • Creates reports to visualize KPI’s, losses/waste.
  • Presents reports for future/long term opportunities.
  • Manage data entry to optimize base settings of lines.
  • Integrate new equipment into data system as needed.
  • Assist in streamlining communication.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure data system is operable within all plant tablets.
  • Work with Safety/Quality/Production/Maintenance teams to implement improvements.
  • Support and Coordinate Steering Committee Meetings.
  • Ability to interact with all functions within the plant and the ability to work directly with individuals at all levels and functions.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

  • 1 – 3 years of experience in leading CI/Lean events/ Utilizing various lean tools
  • Engineering background desirable but not necessary
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and apply problem solving tools
  • Experience with digital productivity tools (Redzone, Tableau, Power Bi, etc.)
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to coach/lead others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Detail oriented
  • Occasionally lift up to 20 – 30 pounds
  • Bilingual preferred
