THE ROLE

Invictus Academy is an independent public charter school located in El Cerrito and we are seeking a Student Recruitment and Enrollment Manager to join our team who believes deeply that the mission, model, and values at Invictus are driving improved educational outcomes for students. 

The Student Recruitment and Enrollment Manager is a critical representative of Invictus in connecting with our families and the communities where they are from; we are seeking a candidate who brings passion, creativity, experience building relationships, and will take initiative to help grow our school. We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about leading broad outreach efforts to share information with prospective students and families about what Invictus Academy of Richmond has to offer.


The quality of our school is defined by the quality of our team. In that spirit, we are seeking exceptional individuals to execute the following “essential job duties” and responsibilities:


RESPONSIBILITIES


Outreach and Recruitment

  • Develop a strategic, comprehensive student outreach and recruitment plan that results in Invictus meeting or exceeding enrollment targets
  • Implement outreach and recruitment strategies that lead to enrollment growth in students in grades 7-12
  • Responsible for meeting pre-determined enrollment targets
  • Identify, create, attend and evaluate a range of student recruitment events including recruitment fairs, exhibitions, seminars, school visits, community organized events, presentations at community partners, etc. 
  • Track and log recruitment activities to inform continuous improvement of student recruitment strategy and ensure recruitment activities are data-driven and aligned with best practices. 
  • Develop and maintain community relationships and partnerships that lead to prospective students.
  • Organize, lead, and equip existing families and staff members to identify and recruit prospective students
  • Plan school-based open houses, enrollment information meetings, and other school-based recruitment events.
  • Lead a strong digital marketing campaign, including by developing collateral, as well as soliciting insights from prospective families to strengthen digital advertising and messaging.
  • Oversee social media platforms, including relevant sections of the Invictus website, with attention to celebrating and promoting core Invictus values.
  • Responsible for recruiting and attracting a student body that is representative of the community we serve.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Enrollment and Registration of New and Transfer Students

  • Routinely reach out to prospective and newly accepted families to keep them engaged, excited and informed about the school through the first day of school for the following year.
  • Follow up with interested students to ensure they submit their application for the following school year. 
  • Ensure that families are excited to choose Invictus Academy as their next school by the March lottery date. 
  • Support students and families in registering for the upcoming school year by planning with the school leadership team around orientations to make sure students feel welcomed into their new community. 
  • Prepare for and conduct the annual lottery. 
  • Conduct school visits, shadow days, parent/guardian information sessions to build and maintain student enthusiasm for joining Invictus Academy of Richmond.
  • Manage the school’s partnership with EnrollWCC and SchoolMint to track and monitor student applications.
  • After students are accepted for the following school year, collect application packets and ensure student information is properly entered into the school information database.
  • Support the spring placement testing of incoming students.
  • Work with school operations and leadership team to plan welcome events and orientation for new students prior to the start of the school year and to support the onboarding process for students throughout the school year.
  • Continue to manage student enrollment processes to support the onboarding process for mid-year transfer students. 
  • Other duties as assigned.


Student Retention

  • Follow-up with new students and their families to ensure a high quality experience and connect with resources as needed. 
  • Collaborate with school leadership to address student/family feedback, analyze retention data, and strategize to increase student retention. 
  • Manage the re-enrollment process to ensure collection of all materials and a strong retention rate. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Experience working in a school setting.
  • Experience with community engagement and outreach.
  • Experience with recruitment/sales and marketing.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position is on-site. The employee must have sufficient mobility to report to campus, work in an office, and engage with students and families, with or without reasonable accommodations. The employee may be required to do light lifting, pushing/pulling, and bending, with or without accommodations. The employee must possess the ability to communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, with or without reasonable accommodations.
