Lighting Maintenance Inc (“LMI”) seeks a Musco Foreman with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sports Lighting & Electrical Construction. Our projects are located throughout the Maryland, Northern VA, Washington DC area. Candidate must be capable of building and servicing a Musco sports lighting system from the ground up. Our new installations are Musco but we service everything.

 

Journeyman Electrician & CDL license preferred. The Sports Lighting Foreman is directly responsible for leading and working along with a crew which consists of Journeymen, equipment operators, and / or helpers. This person will layout the work and make certain the materials, tools, equipment and all information are on the jobsite in the proper places, ahead of time.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans and schedules work.
  • Completes required paperwork and coding
  • Initiates and monitors safety program
  • Troubleshoot motors, controls, circuits and equipment
  • Efficient in layout and blueprints
  • Rigging and set-up for all operations
  • Demonstrates efficient knowledge of the trade
  • Coordinates with the other trades
  • Complete knowledge of NEC
  • Has direct communication with the General Contractor
  • Coordinates Inspections
  • Coordinates with owners/end user as needed

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licenses — Current drivers licenses and have own transportation
  • Education — High school Graduate, holder of G.E.D., or equivalent training
  • Electrical experience — Has 5 years of sports lighting experience.Construction and service.
  • Computer- able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a blackberry type phone

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain & snow.
  • Job requires employee to have required personal tools with them at all times. (Tool belt worn weighs approximately 30 lbs.)
  • Work from all types of ladders, (up to 14’ step ladders, “A” frame ladders, extension ladders) and be able to carry up to a 12’ step ladder on and off the job by yourself.
  • Employee’s personal weight plus personal tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladders.

  (Class 1 = 250 lbs, Class 1A = 300 lbs)

  • Perform work at various heights up to 100’, working from ladders, bucket trucks, scaffolding, catwalks, aerial lifts or other safe working platforms.
  • Work in restricted areas like switchgear rooms, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attic spaces, etc...
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including Hard hat and safety glasses at all times. Each job site may be different, and must be accessed individually.
  • Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers
  • Able to work 40 hours a week, overtime as required.

 

SKILLS:

  • Positively identify colors of conductors.
  • Temperature rating of conductors
  • Comprehends reading of blueprints and schematics
  • Bend conduit by hand using hand benders.
  • Must use all power tools, saws, drills, and knockout punches
  • Capable of digging trenches, either by hand tools or power trencher
  • Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in the company Safety Policy Handbook, Haz-com Policy, and Lockout — Tagout Policy.
  • Operate two handed tools such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools and jack hammers.
  • Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blue prints and written instructions.
  • Operate and work from personal lifts, gas or electric powered.
  • Operate equipment, trenchers, backhoes, lift trucks in a safe manner.
  • Work energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in the Company safety Manual.
  • Supervise assigned job site employees to complete projects.
  • The electrical knowledge comes in when need to troubleshoot circuits, replacing contactors, setting services

 

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
  • Lift 35 pounds.
  • Constantly moving on your feet, all day long
  • Climb ladders and poles of all types.
  • Complete overhead work for full day’s assignments.
  • Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
