Staff Accountant

Banyan Search is assisting a rapidly growing organization in the Greater Myrtle Beach, SC in their search for a staff accountant. Principal Duties and Responsibilities

· Participate in the month-end close process and assist staff and management throughout close process.

· Prepare general ledger entries in accordance with GAAP

· Prepare detailed account reconciliations by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system, external reports, and various corporate departments

· Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheets and other ad hoc reports as needed

· Assist with year-end audit preparation and documentation

· Liaison with Finance Department personnel and other teammates as necessary

Job Requirements

Education, Essential Training / Certifications and Experience:

· Bachelor's Degree in accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· 2-5 years' experience in accounting field, preferably in a Corporate Accounting setting.

· Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated automated general ledger accounting experience.

· Intermediate level experience with excel, word and other spreadsheet software.

· Knowledge of Sage 500 preferred

· Demonstrate initiative in understanding process flows and internal controls
