ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Staff Accountant contributes to the accomplishment of Momentum Telecom accounting practices and objectives that will increase the transparency and reliability of the accounts receivable & accounts payable process.

  • Prepare monthly recurring journal entries including but not limited to monthly revenue, COGS & Opex accruals
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned
  • Prepare and maintain narrative documentation over processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Lead and assist with special projects for management and other financial functions within the department as required.
  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist with annual audits and various projects within the accounting department.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of relevant experience; telecom experience highly desirable.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel required.
  • Business combination/integration experience highly desirable
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of mid-market financial applications (Sage 500) and related reporting tools highly desirable.
  • Must possess professional demeanor.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks & large transaction volumes.
  • Highly detail-oriented, ability to perform in-depth research and reconciliations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, through email and via telephone.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with other departments for communication and follow-up.
  • Must be able to thrive in a busy and demanding work environment.
  • Must have ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned duties accurately and proficiently.
  • Must be able to work well unsupervised.
