ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Staff Accountant contributes to the accomplishment of Momentum Telecom accounting practices and objectives that will increase the transparency and reliability of the accounts receivable & accounts payable process.

- Prepare monthly recurring journal entries including but not limited to monthly revenue, COGS & Opex accruals
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations as assigned
- Prepare and maintain narrative documentation over processes, procedures, and controls.
- Lead and assist with special projects for management and other financial functions within the department as required.
- Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist with annual audits and various projects within the accounting department.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of relevant experience; telecom experience highly desirable.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel required.
- Business combination/integration experience highly desirable
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of mid-market financial applications (Sage 500) and related reporting tools highly desirable.
- Must possess professional demeanor.
- Able to handle multiple tasks & large transaction volumes.
- Highly detail-oriented, ability to perform in-depth research and reconciliations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, through email and via telephone.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with other departments for communication and follow-up.
- Must be able to thrive in a busy and demanding work environment.
- Must have ability to organize, prioritize and complete assigned duties accurately and proficiently.
- Must be able to work well unsupervised.
