Job Description
  • Cash and Accounts Receivable Oversight
    • Develop and maintain schedules in support of accounts receivable balances
    • Monitor loans and receivables to ensure that payments are up-to-date
    • Responsible for cash receipt deposits and entry into the accounting system
    • Generate invoices and statements; submit to customers as required
  • Property Management Accounting
    • Reconcile rent rolls and receivables, reconcile cash, maintain general ledger
    • Conduct detailed analysis of specific accounts
    • Coordinate development of annual budgets
    • Prepare financial statements with supporting schedules
    • Provide additional support to property management staff
    • Monitor compliance with HUD regulations regarding finance and books of record
  • Payroll and Employee Benefits Support
    • Process payroll
    • Ensure proper documentation, payment, and reporting of payroll withholdings
    • Serve as the primary payroll administrator and ensure the “backup” administrator is trained and able to assist and fully perform the function, if necessary
    • Evaluate employee health & wellness benefits withholdings, pay rates, and other payroll items
  • Support of Other Fiscal Operations as needed
    • Analyze information and prepare interim/pro-forms reports as required
    • Assist in the preparation and distribution of internal and external financial statements
    • Assist management in creating budgets for contracts and grants
    • Prepare schedules and other documentation in support of annual audits
    • Reconciles other accounts as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Intermediate knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs
  • Two years experience; knowledge of nonprofit accounting; payroll experience; experience with HUD preferred;
  • Work independently and as part of a team; good fundamental math skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to meet a constant stream of deadlines
  • Understands and adheres to the necessity of confidential information
  • Can read and comprehend complex documents, program plans, and agency policies and procedures
  • Able to transport self as needed to complete essential functions and responsibilities outside of the office
  • Communicate effectively in both the written and spoken word

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Regularly required to: talk, hear and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Frequently required to: stand and sit
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds

Benefits

35 Hour work week

Holidays:

  • 13 paid holidays per year, including 10 aligned with office closures and 3 floating holidays for personal use.

Vacation Time:

  • Accrual of 17 vacation days per anniversary year, with the option to carry over up to 2 weeks' time based on hire date.

Sick Leave:

  • Paid Sick Leave benefits with accrual up to 15 days per calendar year, allowing carryover to a maximum of 90 days.

Personal Leave:

  • 3 personal days per calendar year, accrued on specific dates and not carried over to the next year.

Bereavement Leave:

  • 3 paid days of absence for the death of an immediate family member.
