Assurance Senior Accountant (Flint, MI 48532)
Position Summary:
Senior Accountants in their Assurance service line are responsible for organizing and managing client assignments and projects, including the completion of assignments and tasks and project components as well as coaching, advising and directing team members in meeting client and personal development expectations. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity!
Qualifications
  1. Bachelors or master’s degree in Accounting or related curriculum
  2. Active CPA accreditation
  3. Experience as a Staff Accountant in Public Accounting or equivalent experience
Technical Abilities
  1. Proficient at completing and reviewing audit programs
  2. Is proficient at conducting single audits
  3. Employee has a sense of urgency or promptness to achieve goals
  4. Ability to complete assigned tasks accurately within budget and meet all deadlines
  5. Demonstrates desire and ability to have a high degree of self-responsibility on all assigned work
  6. Provide supervision to staff and interns on audits
  7. Run mid-large size audit from start to finish with little assistance
  8. Review staffs work papers before partner review
  9. Become the main client contact on the majority of your jobs
  10. Attend and present at board presentations
  11. Become actively involved with or highly proficient in a technical niche

  2. Focuses personal development on evaluation competencies with Career Advocate
  3. Asks for coaching and feedback from a variety of people

  5. Work with Principals and staff across multiple offices

Business Development
  1. Uses LinkedIn profile and/or preferred social media to actively engage network through company and industry updates.
  2. Attend business development training offered through the company.
  3. Actively participates in business development meetings.
  4. Be able to intelligently speak about the firm’s mission and services.
  5. Participation in community networking opportunities through chamber or similar group
  6. Identify key referral sources and work to build a professional network.
  7. Annually develop at least $2,000 in new business or additional services.
  8. Strives to generate additional business for the company and its affiliates through cross selling
