INTRODUCTION:

Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Shipping and Receiving Clerk performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of inventory and storage procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Verifies materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and various damages.

2. Delivers and retrieves mail and material from the loading dock.

3. Routes material to assigned storage locations.

4. Stores materials in accordance with storage procedures.

5. Removes material from storage and prepares them for shipment; reporting deterioration and damage according to procedure.

6. Completes tasks to accomplish all warehouse operations as assigned by the Site Supervisor.

7. Competes data entry and maintains database of inventory records associated with warehouse operations.

8. Performs inventories and updates inventory records and system to accurately reflect shipment and receipts.

9. Verifies incoming shipments by comparing invoice manifest, storage receipts or other records.

10. Checks for damaged goods, ensuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments.

11. Prepares and keeps records of goods received.

12. Inform responsible company of shipments received.

13. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. One (1) years' experience working in a Federal, DoD, or commercial mailroom setting. Experience with hazardous materials handling and the use of mail screening equipment required. Must possess sound judgement, foresight, and problem solving skills. Basic computer email and word processing skills required. Possess excellent oral and written communications skills; fluency in spoken and written English. Demonstrated strong customer service skills. Ability to adapt to fast-paced work/office environment with accuracy. Must possess or able to maintain a Secret clearance.
