Technical Sales Support Specialist

In this role, you will be supporting the assigned sales organization (division and market) and customers during the proposal (bidding), quotation, order booking and delivery by providing professional and on time support, and serving as region representative of PDP (Production & Engineering Delivery Platform) in the assigned area to support profitable sales in Robotics and Discrete Automation in Auburn Hills, Michigan.

Your responsibilities

  • Offers commercial and technical advice on inquiries from GBL, LBL and sales organization in assigned area about ABB products/systems
  • Ensures achievement of budget goals in terms of value, margin, unit in the assigned area
  • Responsible for correct price/margin from end-to-end (E2E) perspective in cooperation with GBL, LBL, global KAM(Key Account Manager) and pricing management team
  • Provides rolling order intake forecast monthly upon on regular communication with sales organization in the assigned area
  • Supports risk review process in accordance with ABB policy and participates in the risk review assessment as required
  • Supports development of market plan, product introduction, new product launch, etc. together with product management team and sales organization to prompt sales of robot products
  • Communicates and supports LBL in terms of quotation, order booking, first-line technical questions etc. on daily basis, with support from backend technical teams inside and/or outside of our own department
  • Responsible for chasing volume project as internal project coordinator to keep project in a good running process
  • Drives business/process development and internal trainings for products/applications, with support from local management, and cooperate with product managers, segment managers, service managers
  • Works closely with frontend team in the assigned area to understand market demands, customer request, competition status, SWOT situation, market prices, etc., and bring feedbacks with analysis and proposal
  • Shares best practices and lessons learned, and perform other relative tasks as assigned

Your background

  • Degrees preferably in Engineering, Business administration
  • Bachelors 3+ years/Associates 5+ years/GED 7+ years related experience in sales support/sales & marketing/proposal
  • A good team player
  • Proactive, initiative and analytical ability is must
  • Robotics application knowledge of Are-welding/Automotive/Consumer is preferred
  • Knowledge on SAP is desired
  • Effective communication and presentation skills. Be able to communicate effectively both in written and spoken English in a global team
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
