DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will provide technical guidance and support to the operation of the CHIP Member Services Unit. You will act as an agent of the call center and respond to emails and phone calls from Pennsylvanians who have questions about CHIP. You will utilize various department computer programs to review work and actions taken by caseworkers and approve or deny enrollment requests; assist in the development of administrative and programmatic policies and procedures related to quality control; and assist in the processes for a needs-based health insurance program by evaluating past, current, and anticipating future circumstances of enrollees in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, with a minimum of one day per month in the office. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of para-technical experience which involved reviewing and responding to inquiries relating to applicable services or benefits in health care insurance programs, health care services, or medical assistance program services; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
