Job Summary

DRS Land Electronics in Melbourne, FL is looking for an electrical engineer to join the hardware team and support our growth in compute, vision, and display systems for tactical applications in ruggedized military vehicle platforms. The ideal candidate is a recent university graduate with solid electrical engineering fundamentals. You will participate in digital circuit design, mixed-signal interfacing, and power supply design as well as testing, integration, and documentation of finished designs. Job Responsibilities
  • Involved with the design, development, modification and analysis of various electronics systems. May include Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Components or others. Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in existing products or systems and makes modifications as needed. Compile and evaluate design and test data. Analyze, develop and recommend design approaches.
  • Support and participate in technical activity.
  • Ability to work independently under supervision of others
  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status
  • Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
  • Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
  • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks as directed
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • May participate in preparation of less complex proposals
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 0-2 Years Experience
  • Possess a self-starting determined attitude, with a focus on solving tough problems
  • Experience with electrical circuits and PCB design, fabrication, and debugging
  • Ability to read schematics and work with electrical design tools
  • Novice technical expertise and application domain knowledge
  • Previous internships or co-ops in the defense, aerospace, and automotive industries a plus
  • Circuit or system design based senior project a plus
