The Opportunity

Work alongside civil engineers while communicating with architects, planners, and clients on new and redevelopment projects across Minnesota, Central Texas, and North Carolina.

As a Landscape Designer, you'll be involved in all phases of a project from site analysis through punch list walk-throughs, applying your expertise in plant knowledge to assist in problem solving and place making. Additionally, we assist the transportation and planning departments in matters of landscape through trail design, roundabouts, renderings, and guide document preparation.

Work Location: Hybrid after training phase-- then in-office Tuesday-Thursday for team collaboration

The qualified candidate will:

• Provide landscape research and document creation support to our commercial teams
• Prepare planting plans to meet city, LGU, and client requirements
• Work closely with the landscape architects, engineers, planners, and surveyors within the office on residential, commercial, and industrial scale projects throughout Minnesota, Texas, and North Carolina
• Assist all disciplines within the office with design, graphic presentation, and preparation of documents
• Maintain existing client relationships by providing exceptional service and quality through the development of our documents and deliverables
• Respond to Sambatek staff and clients in a timely fashion

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture
• 0-4 years experience in a professional design office
• Computer drafting skills in AutoCAD and Land F/X - Civil3D experience is a plus
• Ability to navigate codes and regulations such as municipal development codes, ADA, building codes preferred
• Interpersonal skills - ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels within the organization
• Strong illustration and rendering skills
• Graphic presentation skills including hand drawing and rendering as well as proficiency in graphic software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, SketchUp, Lumion, or similar programs
• Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Professional demeanor
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
• Landscape and/or site work installation and observation experience preferred
• Working knowledge of plant materials and planting design

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Work is primarily performed in an office environment
• Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
