Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Quality Engineer to join our Casting Facility located in Dover, New Jersey.

JOB SUMMARYAssure the quality of product produced and conformance to the applicable customer and internal specifications, while supporting corporate objectives.
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES- Expected to assist in the implementation of Howmet Aerospace's value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
- Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain compliance of products in manufacturing to specific customer purchase orders, blueprints, and specifications.
- Maintain lines of communication with customers. This includes verbal and written correspondence and personal visits when required.
- Provide technical support to Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sales.
- Perform product and process audits to verify compliance to customer and internal requirements.
- Review purchase orders, blueprints, specifications, instructions, layouts/First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), qualification packages, and routings.
- Revise and/or create work instructions for operators to utilize when manufacturing products.
- Coordinate review of nonconforming material and prepare/submit customer concessions for possible acceptance.
- Work with cross-functional teams to perform root cause analysis, problem solve, and address quality related issues, including scrap, rework, and customer returns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost reduction objectives.
- Utilize APQP/PPAP tools for Quality Planning of New Product Introduction.
- Other duties, as assigned by the Quality Manager.
- Must be willing to travel as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- BS degree in Engineering, science, or related field.
- Computer skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of statistics.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with ability to solve problems.
- Ability to read customer blueprints.
- Knowledge and experience with quality tools, such as 8D problem solving techniques, root-cause-analysis, six-sigma/lean manufacturing, PFMEA, etc.
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management System requirements.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds
