THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has an exciting opportunity for a professional LCB Licensing Specialist in the Bureau of Licensing, Administrative and Divergent Licensee Affairs Division. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, conducting interviews, and gathering information for the purpose of reviewing liquor licenses during renewal periods, conducting Licensing Compliance Inspections, and acting as the PLCB's liaison, sharing conditions of Licensing Agreements, and providing education to Law Enforcement, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement (BLCE) and communities.

You will also be responsible for collecting and coordinating information (violation history, input from law enforcement and citizens) and working with Licensing Specialists, Bureau Supervisors, Division Chief, Director and PLCB attorneys to present an accurate overview at the time of renewal of the activity that is occurring in and around liquor licensed establishments.

In addition, you will coordinate and conduct Licensing Compliance Inspections of establishments that are suspected of not meeting and/or maintaining the basic requirements of each type of license.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with the exception of reporting to the Regional 1 Office Building on Board meeting dates once every two to three weeks, and as operational needs dictate. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Plymouth Meeting.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as an LCB Licensing Technician 2; or
  • Five years of clerical, administrative, or para-professional experience supporting a legal, licensing, or other regulatory program requiring the application of statutes, program policies, and industry regulations, and graduation from high school; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
