Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities

Looking for a meaningful internship opportunity that will give you real-world experience and help you grow as a professional? Look no further than the Iridium Internship Program where you will be an integral part of the Iridium teams shaping the future of satellite communications! The Iridium Internship program is a 12-week program that runs from May 20, 2024 to August 9, 2024. As an Iridium Intern, you'll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! During the program, come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. Our Interns are offered a unique opportunity to provide valuable support to Iridium on projects and work assignments as well as the chance to participate in exciting activities that will allow you to connect with senior leadership and fellow interns.

What We're Looking For:

As a Digital Media & Communications intern, you will collaborate with the marketing team on scripting, creative writing, short video editing, b-roll selection, advertising design and social media content creation. Your contribution will help create, deploy, expand, and maintain Iridium's brand awareness and ongoing public relations and marketing efforts., In the process you will develop new skills, enhance existing skills, and contribute to a fun team working in a fast-paced environment. We're looking for a creative team-player and hands-on learner who's ready to dive right in and start generating exciting new content!

What You'll Do:

    Support the development of creative digital media content including short videos, animated advertisements, infographics, and social media content
  • Assist in developing short video scripts including both speaker content and accompanying b-roll/supporting assets
  • Assist in creating public-facing marketing communications including email campaigns, social media content, event/virtual event invitations, etc.
  • Help identify and develop explanatory content for highly-valuable industry trends, applications and technologies for the Iridium blog
  • Assist with researching new publications for advertisements, webinars, and industry reporters for new PR opportunities

Skills You'll Obtain:

  • Real-world experience in chosen field of interest and related topics through multiple hands-on projects in a business environment
  • Strategic communications processes including ideation, research, creation, deployment, and measurement of digital media content

  • Must be currently enrolled in a bachelors or graduate degree program at an accredited academic institution in Journalism, Communications, or Marketing
